Answers

  1. What are the system requirements for using OCD? Not Me!

You will need a modern browser to use OCD? Not Me!  We support the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome and Safari, Internet Explorer 9+ and iPad.  If your browser is not supported, you will see a message at the top of this page.
You will also need to have javascript enabled, and cookies enabled

  2. How does this website make use of cookies?
You must have cookies enabled to use this website.  We use cookies to record your consent to use the program, and to enable you to login and complete the program.
  3. How do I know if my child/teenager has OCD?
If you suspect that your young person may have OCD, we recommend that you obtain a diagnostic assessment from a qualified mental health professional. While the OCD? Not Me! Program involves assessment procedures designed to assess participant’s suitability for the program, these are not intended to be diagnostic assessments and cannot take the place of professional diagnostic evaluation.
  4. Can I do the program more than once?
We ask that participants try to focus on one set of OCD symptoms at a time when doing this program. At the end of the program, if you want to repeat it with another set of symptoms, you will be able to. If you wish to leave the program and come back to it later on, that’s ok too! No matter where you are at in the program, we’ll need to assess your symptoms regularly to make sure the program is suitable for you.
  5. What if I am over 18?
The OCD? Not Me! program has been developed for young people aged 12-18, and therefore the content may not be appropriate for people over 18. However, if you are over 18 and wish to register for the program, you are welcome to do so. We ask that you please make sure you report your correct age during the screening process.
  6. Why did I get screened out of the program and what happens now?
If you have been screened out of the program it is likely because our screening assessments have indicated that your symptoms are too severe at this time, or that your symptoms are better explained by a diagnosis other than OCD. If this is the case, we recommend that you seek alternative or more specialized services at this time. An email will be sent to your parents explaining this situation and the steps they can take to help you access appropriate support. You can also search for a list of treatment providers in your area by going to the treatment providers page.
  7. What if I want to stop doing the program?
You can withdraw from the program at any time. If you’d like to withdraw from the program you can do so by clicking here. Please take a moment to tell us why you are withdrawing from the program so that we can help to improve it for future users!
  8. I want to go back to my OCD Worksheet. Where can I find it?
You can find your OCD Worksheet by clicking on “My Progress” in the drop down menu available in the blue box on the top right of the screen. Once you are on the “My Progress” page, you can access your OCD Worksheet by clicking the “My OCD Worksheet” icon.
  9. What is an OCD Cycle?
An OCD Cycle helps to explain the link between OCD thoughts (or obsessions) and habits (or compulsions). Everyone’s OCD Cycle is different. In this program, we’ll help you to work out your OCD cycle so that you can start to challenge it and overcome your OCD.
  10. How can I change my OCD Challenges?
These can be changed from My Progress by clicking on the "OCD Challenges" icon, or by clicking here.
  11. Why aren't my Wise Cards printing in colour?

By default, Firefox and Internet Explorer do not print background colours and images.  The pages below describe how to change your browser options so they will print properly.  Alternatively, download the pdf version of the Wise Cards and print them out.
Firefox - changing the page setup to allow background colours and images to print
Internet Explorer - printing background colours and images

  12. How do I withdraw from this program?

You can withdraw from the program here.

  13. How do I reset my progress and start again?
If you would like to clear your progress information and start from new, you can withdraw from the program and then register again. We suggest you download and save/print any copies of worksheets and your OCD Challenges before resetting your account as they will no longer be accessible once you complete this step.
