&lt;p&gt;Research has shown that everyone also experiences obsessional thoughts from time to time. These thoughts tend to pop into our heads and are often very upsetting or unusual.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Understandably, they want to make the anxiety go away and so they do something that makes them feel better.&lt;/p&gt;
